2007-2008 Membership Information

MEMBERSHIPS

  • Your complete paperwork must in sent to the provincial secretary before you are eligible to enter.  You must be on the membership list supplied to the districts by the provincial secretary in order to enter a rodeo.

  • The application must be completed in full and received by the provincial secretary postmarked no later than 5 working days prior to rodeo entry date.

  • If a new membership is taken out after March 1 the only way a member can qualify for finals for that year is if they buy out the complete book of raffle tickets by April 1.

  • New members must attend 50% of the remaining rodeos after they join to be eligible for finals. (see above regarding raffle ticket.

  • Any memberships before March 1 will be eligible for finals and scholarships should they meet the criteria for it. 

  • District secretaries will take individual sponsors names and forward to the sorter.

All memberships (both new and renewing) must include the following 4 items:
  • A copy of your June 2007 report card.  
  • 2007-2008 Provincial AHSRA/Wrangler registration form completed and signed. (click here to download)
  • 2007-2008 National HSR registration form, completed and signed. (click here to download)
  • 2007-2008 National Wrangler registration form, completed and signed. (click here to download)
  • Cheque in the amount of $175.00 payable to the AHSRA for High School Rodeo
  • Cheque in the amount of $125.00 payable to the AHSRA for the Wrangler Divison

QUALIFYING FOR SCHOLARSHIPS 

  • You must sell a complete book of raffle tickets and have them returned to the ticket coordinator by April 1st

  • If using the postal system, they must be postmarked no later than April 1st.

  • A minimum of one complete book of tickets must be sold each year you are a member to be eligible for a scholarship.

  • You must attend 50% of the qualifying rodeos every year you are a member in order to qualify for a scholarship.

  • To be eligible for previous year's scholarship you must sell a book of tickets in your grade 12 year

  • **FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION OF YOUR APPLICATION FOR ALL YEARS OF SCHOLARSHIPS.

  • Scholarship applications are due April 15th and must be postmarked no later than April 15th or they will not be accepted.

  • Scholarship applications must be completed as per the instructions of the application and must meet all the criteria outlined in the application or they will be rejected. 

 DISTRICT MEETINGS

  •  Failure to attend districts meetings if you are entered in that rodeo will result in being placed on probation and will receive a letter to this effect from the District President.

 LATE ENTRIES

  •  NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR ANY RODEOS, AT ANY TIME UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

  

PROVINCIAL FINALS MANDATORY MEETINGS

  •  Failure to attend will result in DISQUALIFICATION from the Provincial finals.

 QUALIFYING FOR PROVINCIAL FINALS

  •  You must sell a book of raffle tickets and have them returned to the ticket Coordinator by April 1st (post marked not later than April 1st

  • Be a member in good standing (not on blacklist)

  • Enter the Provincial Finals.

 EDUCATION COORDINATOR MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

  •  Copy of your report card must be included with your membership papers and an updated report by March  1st (post marked no later than March 1st) to the Education Coordinator in your district.

  • Failure to do so will result in being ineligible to enter a rodeo (blacklisted) until such time you provide a report cared to the Education Coordinator.

RAFFLE TICKETS

  •  You are responsible for your book of tickets (you own them )

  • You will be ineligible to rodeo (blacklisted) if you do not return the tickets (sold or unsold) to the Coordinator by the April 1st deadline.

  • You will be taken off the blacklist when the Coordinator receives the tickets.

WAIVERS

  • If you do not provide a properly signed waiver/release to the District Secretary/rodeo office when you pay your fees you will not be allowed to compete.

  • No faxing of copies after the rodeo. 

  • You must have all your paperwork complete or you will not be allowed to compete. 

  • You are ineligible to enter any rodeos until such time that you do provide a waiver. 

  • If you are being home schooled and are having trouble having someone sign for you, please contact the Education Coordinator, District President, District Secretary or National Director for assistance in addressing the requirements.

  • If  you have personal sponsors please give them to your district secretary to send into the rodeo sorter so they will be included in the rodeo programs.

AHSRA Associate Membership Form

  • An AHSRA associate membership entitles you to vote at the district level.

  • Only one AHSRA associate membership available per family.

  • You must hold an associate membership to hold any position in the AHSRA. (eg.  Event director, board member, committee member)(Feb 2005)

  • Your membership fee supports the Alberta High School Rodeo Association.

  • To purchase an Associate Membership, complete the membership form, send it along with your $25.00 fee  to AHSRA, Box 284, Newbrook, Alberta.  TOA 2PO.
